Spiced Chicken Wings | smoked yoghurt, dukkah

The Croft House Town Kitchen & Bar is situated on the corner of Charlotte and Albert St, it’s a great place for after work drinks or a feast. The atmosphere was perfect, though being in the heart of the city, it was nice watching the bustling city whilst we dined. We began with the Spiced Chicken Wings & the Salmon Gravlax, as the Pulled Pork Croquettes were unfortunately sold out. The smoked yoghurt from the spiced chicken wings nicely balanced things out well. The salmon gravlax was our pick for the starter as the celeriac complimented the dish quite well with a touch of sweetness.

For mains, we ordered the Darling Downs 150 day grain fed bavette steak & the Market Fish, which so happened to be salmon, paired with mediterranean  vegetables. The Bavette was a bit over cooked, though it still tasted great with the Cafe de Paris butter and the sweet potato puree really made the dish. It was paired with a side of thick cut chips, which were perfect, one of the best chips we’ve had!

By the time we reached dessert, we were very full – but we powered on and ordered the Signature dish ‘Textures of Chocolate’ and also the Buderim ginger & date cake. The Textures of Chocolate was very rich and decadent – if you’re a lover of chocolate you’d love this dessert! We were surprised by the use of pop rocks, which added a bit of a fun element to our dessert. The Ginger & date cake we probably enjoyed a bit more as it was less full on as we were quite full by this point.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Croft House, the staff were very lovely and it’s at a great location also, will be back for dessert!
